Thank you for your interest in writing for Diapers in Paradise! I am currently looking for guest posts for the following topics: Top Ten with a Toddler series. Please see more information below.
I am only accepting guest posts from fellow bloggers. Sorry, absolutely no commercial guest posts. Please don’t bother asking. Also please no AI as a final product.
Top Ten with a Toddler Series
This is a series that covers the best things to do with a toddler in a specific city or region.
Requirements
1200 or more words on the best things to do with a toddler in a specific city. These are listicle style posts, with each item ranging from 75 to 200 words, plus an intro and summary paragraph.
I am currently looking for major cities or regions in the following countries (I’ve noted the cities/regions that are already covered):
- Indonesia (Bali covered)
- Malaysia (KL covered)
- Israel (Tel Aviv and Jerusalem covered)
- Canada (Vancouver covered)
- Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, and Costa del Sol covered)
- Italy (Rome covered)
- Thailand
- Vietnam (Hoi An covered)
- Hawaiian islands, not cities (Kauai covered)
While it is not required that you have been to the specific city with a toddler, you must have solid firsthand knowledge of the city, and you should have some experience traveling with young children and understand the unique challenges it presents.
You must have a high level understanding of English language and grammar. The post will be edited for SEO, grammar, and tone, but submissions with too many grammatical errors will not be accepted. Spell check before submitting, please. If the post reads like AI, it will be denied or heavily edited.
Photo requirements
Please include at least 4 high quality images taken by you, maximum 1600 px. These do not have to show your child, although it is preferred to have at least a few photos that show a toddler doing the activity.
I reserve the right to make minor edits to the photos (enhancing the lighting, cropping, etc.) if deemed necessary to fit the aesthetic of our site. Images will be resized and optimized for the web. No watermarks on images, please. You will be properly credited for the images, but watermarked images will not be used.
If you do not have images, let me know up front and we will work it out. I will source stock photos if needed, please do not include them.
By sending these images, you give Diapers in Paradise the right to use them within the post as well as for social media promotion of the post. You will retain copyright of your images, and they will not be used in any other posts on Diapers in Paradise.
If your images include any children with visible faces, you must be the parent or have written permission from the parents to share their image.
Links
You will get up to 3 contextual dofollow links, in addition to a dofollow homepage link in your author bio. Links must point to a blog, not to a business. Additional useful external links (not to your website and non-commercial) are fine as well.
Topics I will not link to:
- general how to travel with a baby/toddler
- how to fly with a baby/toddler
- certain product reviews (please check first with me)
- most tip-style posts about traveling with a baby/toddler
- [country/city] with baby/toddler (if it is somewhere that I cover or plan to cover in the future)
I am more than happy to link to posts about the specific attractions you are including, itinerary style posts about the city, or anything about the location that is not specific to babies/toddlers.
I reserve the right to add affiliate links as well as related internal and external links.
Important things to note
Please make sure that everything you are suggesting is actually a good fit for doing with a toddler (1-3 years old).
Please do not include unethical animal tourism or voluntourism opportunities (feel free to ask where I stand on something if you are unsure). I am okay with conservation-focused zoos and aquariums.
Please limit the number of things that you can find in any major city: amusement parks, children’s museums, zoos, water parks, etc. A few of these are fine, especially if they are noteworthy, but I really like to showcase the things that make a city or region special. Avoid including chain attractions, like Chuck E Cheese.
I reserve the right to remove any of the ten entries that do not meet my blog’s standards and replace with something different. If you are not sure about something, please just ask first!
You may write in 2nd or 3rd person (guidebook), and if you have firsthand experience, occasionally adding some limited 1st person perspective is great. For example: “This waterpark is ideal for toddlers because it has an entire section just for kids under 3. There are moving water features, small slides, and a wading pool. Our toddler’s favorite part was the mushroom fountain!”
